NEW YORK (Reuters) - Authorities in Massachusetts have identified five Arab men
as suspects in Tuesday's attack on New York City and have seized a rental car
containing Arabic-language flight training manuals at Logan International Airport,
a source told the Boston Herald newspaper.
Two of the men were brothers whose passports were traced to the United Arab
Emirates, the unidentified source told the Herald. One of the men was a trained
pilot, the paper reported on its Web site on Wednesday.
The paper said investigators suspect the two brothers were aboard hijacked
United Airlines flight 175, which pilot union officials said was one of the
aircraft that crashed into the World Trade Center.
ASSOCIATED PRESS - US officials began piecing together a case linking Osama bin Laden to the worst terrorist attack in US history today, aided by an intercept of communications between his supporters and harrowing mobile phone calls from victims aboard the jetliners before they crashed.
US intelligence intercepted communications between bin Laden supporters discussing the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, according to Utah Senator Orrin Hatch, the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Senior Administration officials say the PA plane was directed at either Camp David or the White House.
Wallace Miller from FBI held a press conference in Pennsylvania. Over 200 personnel
on site at Pennsylvania crash. This morning members of their hazardous materials
unit conducted an assessment of the crime scene. The evidence collection personnel
will be allowed to go onsite to begin mapping and gridding the crime scene. They
are looking to recover the black box, personal effects, aircraft parts, and human
remains.
There are 80 personnel participating in the collection of evidence.
"The search will be painstaking... lasting 3 to 5 weeks."
The NTSB will be conducting a flyover sometime this afternoon to better assess the
scope of the scene. They will be able to compare the scene in PA with other
situations in the past to be able to find out.

Secretary of State Colin Powell upset that Orin Hatch is speaking about interception of possible warnings. Information about these "documents" will "never" be spoken of, according to Powell.
State department doesn't want to point fingers. They want to collect all information before making any decisions or going in any directions of certainty.

Portland, Maine jetport ... seized a car. Silver Nissan Maxima with MA plates. Unknown how long it was in Portland. The men who rented it boarded a flight from Maine to Boston.
NEW YORK (Reuters) - At least two other suspects flew to Logan on Tuesday from Portland, Maine, where authorities believe they had traveled after crossing over from Canada recently,the Herald reported. Authorities were informed about the rental car by a civilian who got into a fight with several Arab men as they were parking their car, the paper reported. (thanks to Beastman!)
CNN -- Police in Coral Springs, Florida, say they accompanied FBI agents to the home of a man authorities believe may have been one of the hijackers involved in Tuesday's attacks on New York's World Trade Center and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. No one was taken into custody in Coral Springs, but police said they had detained several people in Venice and Vero Beach. And in Boston, where three of the four hijacked flights originated, heavily armed tactical police entered the Westin Hotel in Copley Square, where they took several more people into custody
Transcripts of a microphone aboard Flight 93 have been received by CNN. Apparently, the 38 passengers found out about the plane crashing into the World Trade Center, and voted to attack the hijackers. It is almost certain that the hijackers were flying the plane at the time.
FBI sources say there could be as many as 50 people involved, and around 12-24 hijackers involved. - CNN
FBI has identified majority of hijackers.
Police in Hamburg, Germany, search an apartment at the request of the FBI, seeking a connection to terrorism attacks in the United States. Although the apartment was empty, a police spokesman said five people of "apparently Arab descent" had been using it until February.
The White House and Air Force One may have been targets of the terrorists responsible for the Pentagon attack, according to White House officials. That is why President Bush was flown from Florida to several military bases until his security in Washington could be guaranteed. Officials say the jet that slammed into the Pentagon may have been originally destined for the White House.

about 6 to 8 miles away from the crash site of United Flight 93, the fourth
hijacked plane in Tuesday's terror attack. Cell phone calls from passengers
aboard the plane indicated the hijackers may have had a bomb and also
that they were planning to try to retake the plane from the terrorists.
One executive at Earthlink said the FBI wanted any information regarding a particular e-mail address — possibly that was somehow involved with the recent horrific terrorist attacks, according to The Associated Press.
"The Department of Justice is undertaking perhaps the most massive and intensive investigation ever conducted in America," said Attorney General John Ashcroft. And for some security experts it wasn't a surprise that the federal police agency has turned to serving what amounts to electronic search warrants.
