Spam, or unwanted advertising, is one of the most bothersome intrusions on your IRC time. Spam takes various forms such as advertising websites or channels, or advertising a particular script. One thing you can do if you are being repeatedly spammed by someone is to use the /ignore or /silence command. The syntax for these commands is /ignore nick 3 or for silence type /silence +nick !ident@host
