RIP Police - Our thoughts go out to his family...

It is my sad duty to announce the death of one of our operators. Konstantin Vrache, also known as "Police", was tragically killed in an automobile accident on the August 25th, 2001 at the age of 19.
Police had been a steady user of DALnet since the May of 1999 and for the past three months, he had been a global operator on sniper.dal.net and terra.dal.net. Apart from being an operator, Police also helped in acting as a translator for Bulgarian, Russian and French users.
frink, administrator of twisted, tsunami and typhoon, on the morning of the 25th said:
"I'm deeply saddened to hear this. Despite those who think the Internet only serves to pull people apart and into desolation, events like this make you realize that the sense of community offered by places such as DALnet is quite wondrous and unique in its own way. I did not know Police very well at all, but even still IRC seems much emptier to me this morning after hearing the news."
On behalf of the entire staff of DALnet, I would like to extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to his friends and family. |
